Bar Charts

The bar chart as a mean of the visual presentation of a construction program. Bar chart was developed as a mean of scheduling the output of fixed production equipment. Also it is simple & readily understood mean of scheduling. The bar chart tough it is frequently used, does not impact allow a program to be devised on a scientific basis.

Net work diagrams

Net work techniques are built into computer planning packages. In network planning and scheduling functions are done separately. Because network can be drawn without considering time & the re sources required for each activity. Mainly there are two types of net works.

· AOA- Activity On Arrow

· AON- Activity On Node

Critical Path

It is the length in time of this path therefore , which determines the overall program & it is the longest path which is known as the critical path. Every plan represent by a net work diagram must have at least one critical path running through it.

Line Of Balance

In construction there are some projects in which a predominant feature is that of repetition. The line of balance method is based upon the establishment of required delivery program for completed units. A line of balance schedule will be built up using a number of examples to illustrate the main point of the method.

Project crashing

Adding more recourses to a project shorten its duration is called “crashing”. For non project managers crashing seems like an obvious thing to do. But adding resources to a project is often the least defendable way to shorten duration. What’s more it almost always costs more & generates for work for you

Bar chart is the one of the planning techniques . If we use the bar charts to our project, that easiest to understand most widely used form of planning tool, even more sophisticated techniques present their final results at the en as bar charts.
