RICS Quantity Surveying professional competencies

Competencies defined in RICS are based upon attitudes and behaviors. There are three categories of competencies; mandatory competencies which are common to all pathways and compulsory for all candidates personal such as interpersonal, professional practice and business skills. Second category is core competencies which are primary skills of the chosen Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) pathway. Final category is that optional competencies which are selected as additional skill requirements for the profession. Each competency is defined on knowledge and understanding (level1), application of knowledge and understanding (level 2) and finally reasoned advice and depth of technical knowledge (level 3), after following those stages, the required level can be achieved. The following section highlights each competency with its subcomponents.
