Purpose And The Objectives Of POE

Users of building often complain that their work place is not design to meet all their work needs. Facilities design by professionals who believe that they understand how people use buildings. Unfortunately this is rarely the case and issues that are important to users are often over looked by designers. In POE methods, the focus is on user satisfaction (Barrett and Baldry, 2003). Moreover they state that POE is a formal evaluation of a building by its occupants after it has been completed to identify areas that do not meet users’ requirements. However despite its title, POE is also useful too when planning facilities, as data generated during an evaluation can be used in the briefing process for a new building (Barrett and Baldry, 2003).
