Weigh Batching of Concrete

This article is about the weigh batching of concrete

In this method content of each material is measured according to the weight. And con not use admixtures unless specified. In BS 5328, Part 2, Table 5 shows the cement content for prescribed mixes with the total weight of dry aggregate to produce approximately one cubic meter of concrete. And slight adjustments are made to the quantity of the aggregates to obtain required workability, strength and cement content of concrete volume. And some adjustments have shown in BS 5328, Part 2, Table 5 for fine aggregates according to the properties of the local material.

Eg: Grade 10 (40 mm aggregate, 75mm slump)/Cement-180 kg, Total aggregate-1950 kg,

Fine aggregate- 30 to 45 percentage of total aggregate

Grade 20 (20 mm aggregate, 125mm slump)/Cement-350 kg, Total aggregate-1750 kg,

Fine aggregate- 35 to 50 percentage of total aggregate
