· Classification of piles

Pile foundation is used where the soil condition is weak and the load of the structure is very high. Piling machines are used to drill the ground through which the pile foundation is to be constructed. There are few different types of piling machine in the market and all of them have different usage. The usage of types of piling machine is depending on the type of piles used, different types of piling machine may affect the procedure of pile driving too. Location of site affect the usage of type of piling machine too, because some of the piling machines make noisy and it may affect the nearby resident.

In our visited construction site Hydraulic piling machines are used to drill the ground. Method of using Hydraulic piling machines and the types of pilling machines given below.

• Adjust the piling machine on the pile axis and haul with the auger to the drilling place.
• Start drilling until the auger is filled.
• Return from the drilling level to the top of the pile hole.
• Swing to the uploading area.
• Unload the dirt in the unloading area.
• Swing back to the top of the hole.
• Repeat steps 2 to 7 until the pile is completely drilled. Relocated the machine and start steps 1 to 8.
• Start erecting rebar cage using a crane.
• Use funnel for dry method and Tremie for wet method. Start pouring the concrete and finish the pile.

Piling speed : 3.5m/min, 4m/min

· Rotary Piling Rig
it’s commonly used for railway, road, bridge, Public Works Bridge and large building, etc.
Maximum Hole diameter: 2000mm
Maximum Drilling depth: 60m
piling speed: 1.5km/hour
Efficient and energy-saving engine

· Bore piling machine
it is used for bored piling.
Bored diameter: 600mm Bored depth: 18m
Stanchion height: 20.6m, 21m
Multifunctional Pile Frame

In the field of construction, usually piling is given to a sub contractor who is capable of piling activities with adequate experience when main contractor does not have piling machineries. The sub contractors are expected to have different types of piling machines, which are used to drill the ground. The factors, effects the selections of piling machine are
