CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM

This article is about the integration of central air conditioning system with a IBMS.

Chilled water is often used to cool a building's air and equipment. The chilled water system will have chiller(s) and pumps. Analog temperature sensors measure the chilled water supply and return lines. The chiller(s) are sequenced on and off to chill the chilled water supply.

Digital Capabilities

BMS is capable of monitoring digital inputs and controlling digital output actions. Characteristics of the digital capabilities include feedback on all start/stop points to ensure that a controlled device motor, controller reset, etc., received the command instructions and respond as commanded. Output an advisory message if a point does not respond as commanded.

Analog Capabilities

BMS capable of monitoring/measure, transducer, transmit and display analog values for all analog points detailed in the point list. Remote adjustment of controlled variable setpoints and/or dampers shall be available from any designated input device for those points marked in the point schedule.

BMS can automatically adjust controlled setpoints and/or dampers based upon:

· A preselected time and value, under a schedule

· Analog value of another point, such as control under fluctuation of outside air temperature

· Control action required by another application feature, an event initiated program, or other user defined custom programs
